From fast-paced songs to romantic tracks to bluesy numbers, lyricist Irshad Kamil is a master at penning lyrics for all genres. His soulful lyrics evoke the subtlest of emotions in the audience and how. Irshad’s recent two songs from ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ — “Swagat Se Swagat” and “Dil Diyan Gallan” — that have become big hits are in completely different leagues. While the first song is a dance number, the later is a pure romantic track that establishes the relationship between the two lead characters adequately.

Both songs from Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer have created a stir among the audience and Irshad can’t be more happy with the response. “It is great that people like the song and its lyrics so much. They are tweeting and messaging the lines to me and that’s overwhelming,” the lyricist said in an interview to a trade magazine recently.

Irshad also revealed that ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ will have total five songs in the album. While two tracks have already been released, the rest will be out in the forthcoming days. “One is based on women and how they are empowered, how they need to be respected. It is a very inspiring song. Then there is another number which talks about the religion of humanity. It is about how we are all equal and should not be divided by any other religion. There is also the title track of Tiger Zinda Hai, which is very powerful and energetic. There is a lot of character in this particular song,” he said about the yet-to-release tracks adding that the album is a “collection of very interesting numbers of a different genre”.

Talking about his forthcoming projects in 2018, Irshad revealed, “Right now, I am working on Sajid Ali’s Laila Majnu. Apart from that, there is Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s next directorial that I will be writing for. I am working with Leena Yadav on her upcoming project too. I am working with Aanand L Rai on his next project, which features Shah Rukh Khan. Many films are in the pipeline but their titles have not been decided yet.”
