The late superstar, Sridevi, received a special salute for her contribution in cinema at Titan Reginald F. Lewis Film Honours at Cannes Film Festival.

A special visual footage was screened in her honour in the presence of filmmakers from across the world at the prestigious film festival.

About the global recognition bestowed on the Mom actress, Boney Kapoor told an Indian daily, “I’m happy that people from the world over are recognising her body of work and her contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it’s comforting to know that she lives on through her work.”

Subhash Ghai collected the award on behalf of her family. Boney Kapoor said, “Janhvi, Khushi and I are overwhelmed with the recognition and tributes and love of millions of her fans being showered on her. Her work and life have touched so many hearts across the world and she has been an inspiration to millions. She will live forever, thanks to her body of work.”

India’s first female superstar Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai after accidentally drowning in her hotel bathtub. Fans across the globe are still in disbelief about her tragic demise.

The late actor worked in 300 films in her career in several different languages. She was remembered at the Academy Awards this year and was also honoured with Best Actress Award at the National Film Awards.

Boney Kapoor is planning to make a film or a documentary on Sridevi as a tribute to the actor.
