Shahid Kapoor has been on a roll recently, especially since Padmaavat performed exceptionally well at the box-office. The buzz latest is that the actor has now been approached for Raja Krishna Menon’s next. Raja Krishna Menon earlier directed films like Chef and Airlift.
A source close to the development informed a popular tabloid, “Shahid and Raja have been planning to work together for a while now. They had met after the release of Udta Punjab back in June 2016 and had kept in touch, looking for a project to collaborate on. Both agreed on a script that Raja had been working on.”
Confirming the remark, director Raja Krishna Menon said, “Yes Shahid and I are very keen to do our next film together. We have been working on an idea that we are both excited about and it will be a film based on a true story.”
In the mean-time, Shahid Kapoor was recently also snapped outside Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s office. “Shahid and Rakeysh met and discussed the idea of doing a movie together. Although nothing is on paper yet, the actor has shown a keen interest in Mehra’s film on Kabaddi,” a source earlier revealed to the daily.
Kapoor is also in talks to play the lead in the remake of Woh Kaun Thi, though nothing is confirmed as of yet.
Recently, Shahid and his wife Mira Rajput had appeared on the Bffs with Vogue episode wherein Mira revealed that she threw Shahid out of the house while he was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.
She cited: “He (Shahid) would come home at 8 AM and wake up at 2 PM in the afternoon. I completely get that he needs silence during those hours because it has been a tough night, but Misha is at her best at that point, wide awake and playful. Shahid wouldn’t say anything but I know it’s going to tire him and I know I can’t put too many restrictions on her either. That was getting to me at a point and that’s when I told him that I can’t take this anymore.”
In terms of upcoming projects, Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
