Shahid Kapoor was busy with the shoot of Batti Gul Meter Chalu recently in Uttarakhand but according to media reports, the actor suffered from a back nerve impingement for two weeks. The doctors had then advised the actor to return to Mumbai and rest.

However, Shahid began prepping for a dance performance at an award show in Bangkok. However, due to a back spasm, the actor has backed out of the award show.

A source informed an Indian tabloid, “Despite suffering a major back injury while shooting in Tehri last week, Shahid continued filming as he was required to wrap up the movie by mid-June. After returning to Mumbai earlier this week, he promptly dived into the dance rehearsals for his IIFA gig.

It was while attempting a tricky step that he suffered a back spasm and was advised against any strenuous activity by the doctor. Although Shahid was scheduled to fly out to Thailand last night, he called off the plan. The IIFA organisers were fairly understanding about it.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shahid will begin shooting for Arjun Reddy from July-end. In September, the actor will be going on a paternity break as his wife Mira Rajput is expecting their second child. He had taken a paternity break when Mira had given birth to their first child, Misha Kapoor.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu was slated to release on August 31, 2018, but may now get delayed to September 2018 release.

Here’s wishing a speedy recovery to Shahid!
