There have been so many speculations regarding the casting of Arjun Reddy‘s Hindi remake.
At one point, it was said that Ranveer Singh was approached, then Varun Dhawan’s name came up. Thereafter, it was reported that Arjun Kapoor has been finalised to play the lead role in the film.
Earlier, a source informed a leading daily: “Discussions have been on for a long time as Arjun has his date diary full. He is planning to kick off the Hindi remake in 2019.” The source added, “The protagonist’s first name will remain intact in the Hindi remake.”
Now as per reports in another leading publication, Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to play the lead in the film.
Talking about it, a source stated to the outlet: “The film is scheduled to go on the floors in July and the team is looking for an actress opposite Shahid at the moment. While the locations are yet to be finalised, the plan is to shoot in India as well as abroad.”
The original film was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and he will be making his Bollywood debut with this film.
Talking about the film, a source earlier said, “It follows Arjun’s anger issues after he suffers a heartbreak. The film was widely acclaimed and earned cult status in Telangana. Now, the premise will be adapted to a North Indian setting.”
Apart from Arjun Reddy remake, it is reported that Shahid might play the role of a boxer in Airlift helmer Raja Krishna Menon’s upcoming directorial.
