Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited magnum opus ‘Padmavati’s movie-watching experience is going to be more grandeur as the film starring Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone might release in 3D all over the world on December 1st.
If the latest reports are to be believed, the makers of ‘Padmavati’ are planning to release it in both 2D and 3D format to increase its prospects at the box office. The suggestion to release it in this latest format reportedly came from Hollywood’s Paramount Pictures which is backing this film internationally. “The executives were excited after watching the trailer. They told producers Viacom 18 that the film must be seen in 3D for viewers to enjoy the filmmaker’s vision. Bhansali was on board too. In Padmavati, the audiences will experience the battles fought in 3D,” Mid-Day reported quoting a source.
Although the news is not confirmed yet, if it turns out to be true, ‘Padmavati’ will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali first film to release in 3D format. The makers have reportedly brought a team of Hollywood technicians on board to convert the film into 3D. The unit is expected to announce this news with an extensive marketing campaign on October 30.
“Until then, everything is being kept under wraps. Given that time is a constraint, ahead of the film’s December 1 release, a team of Hollywood technicians are working on making it suitable for a 3D outing, as the patchwork continues in Mumbai, simultaneously,” the source added.
The film which has been made in the budget of whopping 170 crores, has been planned to release in over 100 countries and will also be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.
