We reported in November that Salman Khan will soon return with the third season of ‘Dus Ka Dum’, one of his most popular TV shows before he came to the controversial reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’. Now, there is some more development on the show. According to a daily, ‘Dus Ka Dum Season 3’ will air on Sony Television in May 2018.
Salman is currently hosting Colors TV’s ‘Bigg Boss Season 11’ which is expected to wrap up by January. The superstar will reportedly shoot for ‘Dus Ka Dum’ and his next film with Ali Abbas Zafar simultaneously. We have also heard that Salman has agreed to host the third season of this quiz show after he was offered a handsome remuneration. Although the exact remuneration is not known yet, it’s said to be higher than what Salman gets paid for ‘Bigg Boss’.
“Salman came on board in November and the channel has been working on a new and interesting format to bring back the show after eight years. The idea is to make it more interactive for viewers at home through the second screen format which was introduced by Amitabh Bachchan in his popular game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, wherein viewers can answer questions on their mobile phones at the same time as the contestants. This took the popularity of that show a notch higher and made it the channel driver. Sony hopes to repeat the success with Dus Ka Dum now,” Mumbai Mirror reported quoting a source.
Recently, Danish Khan, Sony TV’s Executive Vice President and Business Head confirmed the news of Salman returning to host the much-loved show after nine years. “We believe ‘Dus Ka Dum’ will be the biggest interactive show that we have ever done. For Sony, it will be the most ambitious TV, plus second screen experience for consumers,” he said.
‘Dus Ka Dum’ is an Indian version of the popular international reality game show ‘Power of 10’. The show that aired between 2008 and 2009 helped Sony TV regain its third position in the Indian television ratings and with the new season they are hoping to jump their rank even more.
