Salman Khan has launched several actors in Bollywood. Be it a star daughter like Sonakshi Sinha or a former background dancer – Daisy Shah, most of those launched by Salman have been successful in making a name for themselves in the industry.

While his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma is also all set to make his Bollywood debut with another newcomer Warina Hussain in Loveratri, Salman left everyone bewildered when he posted a throwback picture with a kid and shared that he’s all set to launch the (now grown-up) kid.

Salman Khan had tweeted, “Being Launched Tomorrow …KAL dekhte hai yeh ladka AAJ kaise dikhta hai …” and now we finally know who the kid is. Meet the fresh talent introduced by Salman Khan – Zaheer Iqbal. Zaheer will be seen making his debut with a Kashmir-based love story and his leading lady in the film is also supposed to be a newcomer.

A report on a Bombay paper informs that Salman Khan’s production house SKF (Salman Khan Films) will be co-producing Zaheer Iqbal’s film along with Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde of Cine1 Studios. The yet-to-be-titled film is to be directed by Filmistaan (2013) fame Nitin Kakkar.

Salman Khan was quoted by that same Bombay paper saying, “Zaheer is made for the movies. He is a fantastic actor and a born star.” While Murad Khetani said that Zaheer is here to stay in the long run, Ashwin Varde added that Zaheer’s honesty is his greatest asset which reflects on screen too. Director Nitin Kakkar was also all praises for Zaheer Iqbal and said, “Zaheer’s level of commitment towards his work is great. He will go a long way.”

Though Zaheer is not from a film family, his father has known Salman for quite a long time. Salaman decided to launch him after he happened to spot Zaheer at his sister’s wedding while he was performing on stage. That’s when Salman apparently decided to launch him in films.

Not many know that Salman has been trailing Zaheer himself for quite some time now. The actor is pretty sure of Zaheer’s talent and abilities and calls him ‘Zaheero’ fondly. That’s how Salman introduced Zaheer on social media too.

Salman shared Zaheer’s pictures and wrote, “How these kids grow up so soon… ALWAYS keep giving your best #ZAHERO  no matter what. Stand tall and always bend backwards for those u love and those who love u, Yeh yaad rakhna that the most important thing in life is Respect and Loyalty. @iamzahero”

Salman also shared a picture of Zaheer’s father, reading about the launch of his son in a daily and wrote, “this is my childhood friend, Iqbal, as a teen, he was my bank, I still owe him 2011rs. thank God he did not take interest bete ko launch Kar raha hoon toh baap ka post toh Kar Sakta hoon na. Lv the pic.”
