Apart from films, acting and his involvement in illegal crimes, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is also known for his unique style and fashion statement. And as filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is making a biopic on the actor, how can he miss his trademark looks of the ’90s?

Ranbir to replicate Sanjay Dutt's '90s trademark look in his biopic

According to Hindustan Times, Rajkummar Hirani will be replicating Dutt’s stylemark in his Ranbir Kapoor starrer upcoming biopic. “Dutt ruled the ’90s with his fashion statement — the leather jackets, bell bottoms and long hair — which was a huge rage amongst his fans. To replicate Dutt’s iconic fashion statements, Ranbir saw all his movies, magazine covers and pictures. Rajkumar Hirani also invested over two years to study the various aspects of the actor,” the newspaper reported quoting a source.

Ranbir and the styling team of the film (which had nine members in it) reportedly worked very hard to present Dutt’s style as much genuinely as possible. Ranbir also personal interest and gave a lot of styling inputs in it. “Hirani wanted to do justice to Dutt in his biopic, so he made sure all of Ranbir’s looks in the movie was copied as it were in real life.”

Tentatively titled ‘Sanju’, Ranbir Kapoor’s this film is said to be the most exciting and at the same time most challenging film for him. Those who have seen some rushes of the film is calling it Hirani’s one of the best outing. The trade also has an amazing buzz for this biopic.

Ranbir had recently said that this film deals with both the highs and lows of Sanjay Dutt’s life. “He hasn’t been a hypocrite about it (his life). So it’s not a propaganda film trying to portray him as God or something. We are trying to show a very human side of Sanjay Dutt, his perils, his downfall, his will to fight, his time in jail, terrorism charges, his drug phase, how he handled his mother’s death two days before the release of his debut film, his relationship with his father. These were human conflicts in his life.”
