It only seemed like yesterday that Desi girl Priyanka Chopra grabbed headlines when she became the first Indian actor to play the lead role in an American TV show. PeeCee plays the role of FBI Agent, Alex Parrish in ABC’s Quantico.

Season 1 and season 2 of the show were quite popular and the third season of the show commenced airing from April 26, 2018. Comparatively to 22 episodes in seasons 1 and 2, Season 3 of the show will have only 13 episodes.

ABC has cancelled Quantico and season 3 will be the show’s last season. As per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the first episode of the third season opened to 0.5 ratings and less than 3 million total viewers. The show has hence not been renewed. Season 3 will continue to air until episode 13th.

Priyanka recently told Variety about signing the deal with ABC, “My only thing was them was that I wanted to play a part that was ethnically ambiguous because what happens with a lot of South Asian actors or actors who come from different countries is you get stereotyped into just what studio execs think that Indians should be.

So I told them I wanted to play a part where I, as an actor, could deliver my job and it had nothing to do with my colour or my ethnicity. That’s how they found me for ‘Quantico,’ which was a huge win for me being a South Asian actor, but for me, it was a personal win because I went to high school in America and I grew up in a time where the only South Asian representation that I saw on television was Apu on ‘The Simpsons’ — and he was annoying as hell because not all of us speak like that. It just made you feel really small.”

On the film front, Priyanka has quite a few projects lined up – these being Hollywood ventures like A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic? Plus, she will also be featuring in Bharat with Salman Khan.
