The much-anticipated sci-fi movie ‘2.0’s sudden postponement had created disappointment among Tollywood producers. The announcement that the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer film will now release on 27th April instead of the initially scheduled 26th January didn’t go down well with a section of members of the Telugu film fraternity, especially the producers of Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and Allu Arjun’s ‘Naa Peru Surya’.
‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and ‘Naa Peru Surya’ were already clashing on 27th April, hence when the makers of ‘2.0’ also claimed the same occupied date, it left the producers of other movies red-faced. Bunny Vas and DVV Danayya who are producing Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu’s films respectively, expressed their displeasure over ‘2.0’s new release date on social media and took up the issue with the producers’ council and exhibitors’ association in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
A meeting recently held at Producers’ Council and we have learnt that the meeting has succeeded in sorting out the issue. According to a source, it has been decided that Mahesh Babu’s film ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ will now be preponed to 13th April. “When Sunil Narang, who is distributing 2.0 in Telugu confirmed the release date in the meeting, the team of Mahesh Babu’s film agreed to reschedule their film to 13th April,” a source said.
However, the team of Allu Arjun’s ‘Naa Peru Surya’ haven’t given their decision yet. They have reportedly asked for some time before they come to a conclusion. It will be interesting to see if they also prepone the release date or come up with a new release date. Stay tuned to us for more on the issue.
