It seems Mouni Roy is on a roll these days. The Television actress known for her portrayal in TV serial ‘Naagin’, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’. While her first Bollywood outing will release on Independence day next year, the actress has already bagged her second film.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Mouni has bagged a role in Dharma Production’s big budget superhero flick, ‘Brahmastra’. A leading daily reported that “Mouni recently came on board and will start shooting early next year when the film goes on the floors. For now, Ayan is keeping other details of her role under wraps.”

Although the major details of her character have been kept under wraps for obvious reasons, we have learnt that she has a full blown role in the film that has been planned to be made as a trilogy. Mouni will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in this fantasy adventure drama.

‘Brahmastra’ which has been named after the weapon of Hindu God Brahma, who is called the creator of the universe, was officially announced recently after two years of rumours. This film is said to bigger and grander than any superhero film that has been made in India so far in the estimated budget of over 100 crores.

Ayan Mukherji, the director of the film was recently spotted saying, “It’s a modern-day film set in India as it exists today. But the reason it’s called Brahmastra is because the energies, wisdom, powers in the film come from ancient India. That’s all I would say. There are some costumes, may be not the way you’d expect them to be.”

Produced by Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios, the film will roll in February 2018 with the target to release it on 15th August 2019.
