Producer Prernaa Arora, who has critically acclaimed films like Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Rustom and Pad Man to her credit, has been in headlines for all the wrong reasons currently. A while back, she was in news for her tiff with the makers of Parmanu and a fallout with Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor.
According to a Mumbai daily, now, she has landed herself in one more controversy after a complaint was filed against her by her masseuse, who alleged that Arora abused and assaulted her on being asked for payment of services.
The Meghwadi Police said, Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed, a 60-year-old masseuse who resides in Santacruz had been offering her services to producer Prernaa Arora for 10 years now. Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed claimed that Prernaa Aroraowed her the payment for last 5 months.
Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed said, “Prernaa Arora used to call me for massages in the night. I was suffering from the financial problem, First to play for my husband’s cancer treatment and after his death, to pay off the loans.
Prernaa Arora promised me to give Rs 75,000 per month for massages between midnight and 8 am. But when I asked for my payment, she told me that she (Prerna Arora) was not going anywhere. Later, she issued a cheque for Rs 1.25 lakh (Prernaa Arora owed her Rs 3.75 lakh), which was bounced because of insufficient funds.”
Khairun Mukhtar Ahmed added, “I paid on my own to travel in autorickshaws from Santacruz to Madam Prernaa Arora s house in Jogeshwari. On 9th June, when I again asked Prernaa Arora about my payment. She started an argument and also beat me, she shut the door in my face.”
Prernaa Arora, on the other hand, has a different story to tell. She told the daily that Ahmed tried to steal Rs 56,000 from her house and after being caught by her bodyguards, she was barred from entering her housing society.
When asked about the pending payment, Prernaa stated, “It’s a very small amount and if Khairun Ahmed has any bills and invoices, she will be paid immediately.”
