Madhur Bhandarkar is recognised for making films that are depicted on hard-hitting subjects. As such, these ventures never shy away from unmasking the realistic situation of society.

Bhandarkar’s National Award-winning ‘Chandni Bar’ which stars Tabu is and will always be one of the best works of the director.

The movie received much appreciation from both the audience and the critics. And now as per reports, the film’s sequel is finally geared up to bring the audience its sequel.

Reportedly, after 17 years that the director is expected to direct the sequel of ‘Chandni Bar’. A daily reported a confirmed statement by Shailesh R. Singh who produced the 2011 crime drama.

He cited that he is quite excited to be producing ‘Chandni Bar 2’ with Madhur Bhandarkar again. He even reportedly revealed that the rights for the same have already been acquired.

According to Times Of India, the daily even quoted a source saying that Madhur as a director has indulged in a deep research around the film’s plot that revolves around the 2005 ban on dance bars.

Now that Madhur has quality content, the process of filmmaking will take some pace. Moreover, the source also added that once the final draft comes into existence, the casting process shall begin soon and thereby rolling the film on the floor by the year-end.

Whilst it is fantastic to know that the sequel is in progress, there was a buzz about this development in the past.

Back in 2016, Harish Kotian and Sandeep Choudhary announced the sequel of Chandni Bar which was allegedly titled Chandni Bar 2 Ruby Bar.

However, this report shocked director Madhur Bhandarkar and late Lata Mohan’s son Amit (son of Chandni Bar producer), which Amit claims to hold the copyrights of the film and subsequently filed a complaint at the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association.
