Akshay Kumar who has been busy with social message containing films for last several years will soon return to his favourite comfort zone, action. The actor’s next film, ‘Kesari’ is said to be heavy on action and will see Akshay performing some never-seen-before action sequences. The makers of the film have reportedly roped in a Hollywood action director to design the high-octane actions scenes in the movie.

According to a leading Indian tabloid, Lawrence Woodward, the stunt coordinator behind films like ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’ has come on board to choreograph the action sequences that contain sword-fighting, hand-to-hand combat and others. “Lawrence has already met the makers on his last visit to Mumbai and will be returning in December to start prep with Akshay,” the tabloid reported quoting a source.

‘Kesari’ is said to be a period drama which tells the brave story of Havaldar Ishar Singh (played by Akshay), the military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers, who on September 12, 1897, led his men through a furious battle against thousands of Afghani invaders. The pre-production for the movie has already begun and the shooting will also commence in the first week of January in Mumbai to catch its release in Holi 2019.

Directed by Anurag Singh and jointly produced by Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar and Sunir Kheterpal, the film has been planned to be made on a large scale. Huge sets of the Saragarhi and Gulistan forts, as well as a village, are being erected in Wai, a town in Satara district where the film’s second schedule will take place. The film will also be shot at Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh.
