Kunal Kohli, who has delivered hits like Hum Tum (2004) and Fanaa (2006), is working on his next project. He’s adapting a mythological epic for the big screen.
Kunal says, “I’m producing and directing a movie on The Ramayana. I’m casting relatively new actors for it.”
The filmmaker is planning to make an official announcement within a few weeks once the cast is signed.
He has been working on this ambitious project for quite some time.
When asked if it will stay true to the original or be a more contemporary adaptation, Kunal replies, “I’m making it like the epic is. I’m excited about it.”
The film goes on floors this year and plans are afoot to release it in 2019.
Earlier this year, Kunal’s directorial and acting debut Phir Se released on Netflix. Furthermore, he has also made his first South-Indian film titled ‘Love Otsavam’ starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Sundeep Kishan.
