After seeing her as the cleaner-turned-con in Simran, we will next see Kangana Ranaut portraying the role of warrior queen Rani Laxmibai in her biopic, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
Manikarnika is being helmed by Telugu director Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi (Krish) and also stars Ankita Lokhande, Sonu Sood, Atul Kulkarni and Jisshu Sengupta in vital roles.
While the shoot for the movie began last year, Manikarnika was initially supposed to release on April 27, 2018. However, the release date has been changed and will be announced soon.
“We launched the film in Varanasi on May 5 and we started shooting for it in June-July last year. I think when you make a film on the huge scale, then it normally takes one or one and half year but I can say that this year we will be able to release the film,” Kangana had said when asked about the new release date for Manikarnika.
Now, we hear that the film’s trailer will be out next month i.e. June 2018 as revealed by a dubbing artist, who is working on Manikarnika, on Instagram.
Meanwhile, during a recent event, Kangana spoke in detail about her outfits in the movie. Kangana said, “In one part of Manikarnika when my character is married and is in a happy space, the outfits make me look so beautiful. Every day, when I would dress up and go to the set, I would get so many compliments. But then, the film moves into a war zone and my look is that of a warrior queen.”
“There are so many shades to my character in the film,” Kangana added.
