Kangana Ranaut made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s film Gangster and they later worked together for Kites in 2010 which also starred Hrithik Roshan. The actor-director will soon reunite with Basu for a love story.
As reported by a Mumbai tabloid, the love story is titled as Imali and the actor will start shooting for it once she finishes Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s next.
A source close to the development informed, “The prep for Imali is expected to begin by August but the film should roll only towards the year-end. The search for the male lead is on.”
When the actor was asked about Imali, she said, “It’s too early to talk about Imali as we are starting the film around the end of the year. All I can say is that Anurag is my godfather and everything I am today is because of him… I can’t wait to go back to the beginning.”
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting in London for Mental Hai Kya. The film also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role.
Ranaut will be seen in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi this year. She plays the role of Rani Laxmibai in the film. Manikarnika also stars Ankita Lokhande and Sonu Sood in vital roles. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
Talking about her film with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s film, it is a Kabbadi drama and it will go on floors in October. The Queen actor has already started prepping for the film by taking Yoga classes and she will be trained by national-level Kabbadi players.
