Prime Video has announced that their upcoming Prime Original Series, Made in Heaven, will launch exclusively on Prime Video in the UK along with over 200 countries and territories on 8th March.
Made In Heaven is a series that chronicles the lives of Tara (Sobhita Dhulipala, Goodachari) and Karan (Arjun Mathur, My Name is Khan), two headstrong wedding planners in Delhi. The show portrays today’s India as a potent blend where tradition jostles with modern aspiration, set against the theme of the ‘Big Fat Indian Wedding’. With world class production values and a magnificent scale, Made in Heaven provides a grand cinematic experience of intricacies and the drama around upscale Indian weddings.
In each of the nine episodes, the duo enter the lives of a different bride and groom. Each wedding they service not only introduces them to the twisted dynamics and complexities of Indian families, but also exposes the bubble they live in and the rules they conform to. The supposedly liberal fabric of this educated modern society unravels as they navigate their way through a myriad of issues such as forced arranged marriages, dowry transactions, virginity tests and astrological matches.
The series is directed by the talented Zoya Akhtar (Gully Boy), Nitya Mehra (Life of Pi), Alankrita Shrivastavaand (Lipstick Under My Burkha) and Prashant Nair (Umrika), and is executively produced by Ritesh Sidhwaniand (Don) and Farhan Akhtar (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara).
