Yesterday, Chiyaan Vikram announced that he will be revealing the heroine of his son Dhruv Vikram’s first film today on his Instagram page. He was to announce the heroine of ‘Varma’ which is the Tamil remake of this year’s blockbuster Telugu film, ‘Arjun Reddy’. However, Vikram hasn’t revealed the heroine even today.
Instead of announcing the heroine directly, Vikram shared a video on his Instagram page which shows some glimpses of the actress but hides her face. He wrote: “And.. she is missing. If you are her or anyone who looks like her, send your pics or videos to firstname.lastname@example.org. can’t wait to meet you. Take your time, but hurry.”

It seems people will have to wait some more time before Vikram announces the lucky girl who is making her debut opposite his son, Dhruv. Since this is the first film of Dhruv and also because it’s the sequel to ‘Arjun Reddy’ which is said to be one of the best films in recent times, the anticipation and the pre-buzz for ‘Varma’ is extremely high.
Director Bala who is best known for films such as ‘Sethu’, ‘Pithamagan’ and ‘Paradesi’ has come on board to direct this remake, bankrolled by E4 Entertainment. It is all set to go on floors soon with mid-2018 release plan.
To all those who don’t know, ‘Arjun Reddy’ is a coming of age drama film and a modern-day retelling of ‘Devdas’. Directed by Sandeep Reddy, it starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. This film which is the story of a brilliant, alcoholic medic surgeon with serious anger issues, was raved for its intense, raw and honestly unbelievable portrayal of love and suffering.
