After entertaining the Indian diaspora in Hong Kong, Auckland, Melbourne and UK, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s internationally recognised concert – ‘Da-Bangg The Tour’ is now all set to enthral thousands of audiences in Delhi. The mega-event will take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on December 10 in the Indian capital city.
Like the previous shows, this grand event will also have Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Prabhu Deva and Daisy Shah performing at the stage and entertaining Delhi people like never before. Actress Kriti Sanon and singer-composer duo Meet Bros — Manmeet and Harmeet Singh — will also join the tour this time. Manish Paul who has hosted all the previous shows will be anchoring this one as well.
Scripted and directed by Salman’s brother Sohail Khan, “Dabangg Tour – Delhi” is said to be one of the biggest star events in recent times with around 65,000 people expected to attend. The organizers of the show have planned to mount it on a huge scale and make it more royal than ever. “When conducting these big shows the most important part is star’s projection. We will follow the same norms that were followed in London, Birmingham etc. and maintain the same royalness of the show. In Delhi, we have also increased the size of the stage. We are working with the same people who have worked with Sohail Khan Productions in outside arenas and we won’t compromise with security and projection,” said Vinamra Gupta of Red Rocks Entertainment, the company that is backing this mega show.
This will be the first time Salman will be performing in Delhi for this show which has made this event more special for audiences who dream about Salman entertaining them live. “We kept in mind that if Salman Khan and other artists that are coming on board with him would perform here we would require a huge property to carry out this event as there can be a capacity crowd of 70,000-100,000. Jawahar Lal Nehru Arena was the only place that could accommodate such a huge audience. For the first time that it has been passed by the ministry to conduct a show of this level in the stadium. And because of that, this show feels more royal than ever,” Gupta said to Bollywood Hungama.
This is the first time ever that the main Arena of the JLN Stadium is being used for a private event. No other event, public or private, in recent memory has leveraged the inner arena to put on a spectacle of this scale, apart from the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in 2010.
This concert which is scheduled to begin at 7.30 pm and end at 10.30 pm on 10th December, has been planned to make as much comfortable as possible for the audiences considering the fact that Salman has the fan following of all age groups ranging from different financial backgrounds. “The biggest advantage that we have is that usually in today’s time most of the concerts are standing but this entire event would be for a sitting audience so that family and kids are comfortable as well. We are also setting a great example by setting the ticket pricing in this show. We have kept a very ordinary pricing range from 1200 to highest being 30000 which is very normal in a big concert. Even an auto-rickshaw driver who is a fan of Salman Khan would be able to afford and attend this mega event with all the pride. The ticket pricing is of various range 1200, 3000, 5000, 10000, 15000 and people can buy accordingly whichever they are comfortable buying. All seats are fixed and everyone who buys a ticket will get to sit throughout the entire concert.”
The organizers are banking a lot on Salman Khan fans as well. They are running a Meet & Greet contest among fans to meet the biggest superstar of India. Besides this, they have also planned a special closed-door interaction with guests coming from across the country and abroad.
“Even before the show begins at 7:30 we would have some entertaining programme from 5 to 7 30 as well. We would open the gates at 3 and the entertainment would be on so that people are thrilled and excited even while they are settling in. Entertainment would include performances by famous RJ’s of Delhi etc. We want to celebrate this show like a carnival in Delhi. There were actually 4 programmes that day in Jawarhar Lal Nehru parking area etc but all 4 got cancelled because of this show,” said Gupta.
