First Look: Varun Dhawan plays a tailor in YRF's Sui Dhaaga

According to an Indian newspaper, Varun has already begun intense workshops to perfect his role as a tailor. The two exclusive pictures of the actor picking up the required skills have also been out and by the look of it, Varun seems truly focused on getting the expertise in tailoring. “Varun is going the extra mile to look authentic in his part of a tailor. So, he is learning everything that a tailor needs to know including stitching and mastering the sewing machine. That’s why he is spotted at Aditya Chopra’s production house every day to perfect the skill set as makers also want him to master the craft before the film rolls,” Hindustan Times has reported quoting a source.

Sharat Katariya who is directing this film says, “One has to get familiarised with the skill [required for the part], so that when you grab a pair of scissors or move the cloth, it should look seamless, and a part of the scene in a natural way without drawing unnecessary attention to it. And Varun is enthusiastic to possess the required skill set that will layer his character beautifully.”

“Audiences nowadays are extremely receptive to authenticity and nuances in storytelling and performances. Varun is aligned with Sharat’s thought and vision of having a strong emotional connect with the audience vis-à-vis the way they want to tell the story,” adds the producer Maneesh Sharma.

Also starring Anushka Sharma, ‘Sui Dhaaga – Made In India’ tells a heart-warming story of pride and self-reliance. This story has its roots in the heart of India, and reflects the passion that runs through the veins of every Indian. The film will go on floors in January with the schedule to release it on October 2, 2018.
