Aisha was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the ripe age of just 13. However, the illness did not dull Aisha’s shine and she went on to release a book titled My Little Epiphanies.

The courageous girl also held several motivational talks and speeches at the age of 15. Alas, the young girl breathed her last at the ripe age of 18 on January 24, 2015, owing to her illness.

For the movie, Aisha will be played by Dangal and Secret Superstar actress Zaira Wasim while Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan were approached to play the role of Aisha’s parents.

However, due to an unknown reason, Abhishek has backed out of the project, which could have marked his onscreen reunion with his Bluffmaster (2005) and Dostana (2008) co-star, Priyanka Chopra.

According to a leading Indian daily, it will be filmmaker-actor-singer Farhan Akhtar, who will be replacing Abhishek and starring opposite Priyanka.

A source revealed to the daily, “The movie is based on Ayesha’s life and her book My Little Epiphanies. Priyanka and Farhan will play her parents’ role. Zaira Wasim will be portraying Ayesha’s role in the film. The film goes on floors in August, this year.”

This will mark the onscreen reunion of Priyanka and Farhan, who last worked together in Dil Dhadakne Do.
