There were reports rounding in media that Mumbai based production company, Azure Entertainment has collaborated with Nikhil Advani’s company Emmay Entertainment to produce the Hindi remake of the 2012 Spanish hit ‘El Cuerpo’. However, Sunir Khetrepal of Azure Entertainment has dismissed such any team up.

A few days back, Super Cinema magazine had reported that Nikhil Advani has come on board to co-produce the Hindi remake of ‘El Cuerpo’ aka ‘The Body’ which will star Emraan Hashmi along with Rishi Kapoor in lead and will be directed by Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. However, when we contacted Sunir, the CEO of Azure Entertainment, he declined the news. Although he confirmed that he has bagged the remake rights of ‘El Cuerpo’, they are yet to lock casting and other details. “This is not true. We haven’t tied up with anyone.”

“I have the rights to El Cuerpo. We are currently in process of finalising cast and director. It would happen in a couple of weeks,” Sunir said adding that they will make a formal announcement about the film once they are done with paperwork.

‘El Cuerpo’ is a crime thriller mystery which narrates the story of a detective who investigates a woman’s body vanished from the morgue in mysterious circumstances in the course of a single night with the help of her widower. The critically acclaimed movie has already been remade into Tamil (Oru Melliya Kodu), Kannada (Gameand) and Malayalam (Vettah).
