The most anticipated movie of the year is finally out and features one of Yorkshire’s renowned heritage castles.
This romantic comedy has Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt playing insomniacs and it’s during the sleepless nights on a destination wedding trip that the two fall in love with each other.
What’s great is that the romantic comedy featured a heritage castle located in the Yorkshire
countryside, which had an impressive 273 rooms. The majestic, heritage site was selected by director Vikas Bahl after conducting a thorough filmmaking across five countries, travelling nearly 15
thousand kilometres and visiting close to 40 castles in total to find his perfect location.
The director had a specific vision of filming the pivotal wedding sequences of the film in a castle, with particular requisites in mind. The final choice proved to be a perfect match for its scenic beauty and royal infrastructure. During the Shaandaar crew’s stay at the castle for the
shoot, they made sure to take extra precautionary measures to sustain the
wellbeing of the heritage structure. On the last day of the shoot, the crew were involved in a thorough clean-up.
