Earlier, we reported that Indian comedian/actor Sunil Grover would be joining Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Chhuriyaan. Now, the latest buzz is that Grover could be joining Salman and Priyanka in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat.

In conversation with a leading newspaper, a source talked about Sunil’s character:

“Sunil Grover will be playing Salman Khan’s friend in Bharat. His role is not like how in other films where comedians are used for a couple of comic punches and then they disappear. He has an interesting role in the film.”

It will definitely be refreshing for the audience to see him play such a character. While Sunil Grover has previously worked on the big screen in Ghajini, Heropanti, Gabbar Is Back and Baaghi, never before has he played such a pivotal role in a film as meaty as this.

Sunil’s 2017 film Coffee With D, where he played the protagonist, ended up as a flop. With this project, the comedian turned actor opens himself up to many more possibilities in Bollywood.

Meanwhile, Bharat has gone on floors and marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan and director Ali Abbas Zafar post Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

Priyanka and Salman will reunite with each other almost a decade later post the film God Tussi Great Ho, which was the Bollywood adaptation of Jim Carrey’s Bruce Almighty.

Bharat is the official remake of the 2014 Korean film – An Ode To My Father.

Allegedly, the film will narrate the story of India’s history from its independence to modern times, with Salman sporting five different looks spanning 60 years.

In fact, a crucial part will showcase the actor in his late 20s, looking much leaner and younger.

The film is all set to release on Eid 2019.
