After being summoned by the Thane Police yesterday, Actor-Producer Arbaaz Khan was questioned by the cops today in connection with IPL betting case.

“My statement has been recorded. Police asked whatever they needed in this investigation and I answered them. I will continue to cooperate with them,” Arbaaz stated after his questioning.

The Thane police issued Arbaaz summon after a bookie Sonu Jalan (who is considered to be one of the top bookies of the country) was arrested and interrogated on Tuesday. Jalan was allegedly trying to extort money from Khan.

Police allegedly extracted a dairy from Jalan which had details of his clients and bookies. He apparently worked for a cricket betting mogul by the name Junior Kolkata. According to another media report, Arbaaz was betting on IPL matches and lost around Rs 2.8 crore in bets.

A senior officer associated with the probe said informed, “Actor Arbaaz Khan placed bets during one of the past IPL seasons through Jalan.

In those days, Jalan was working with a big bookie who went by the name Junior Calcutta. Subsequently, too there was a huge transaction between Jalan and Khan. Apparently, Khan was blackmailed into paying crores, the threat being that his gambling habit would be exposed. But all this will be probed once Khan gives his side of the story.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Arbaaz will soon be producing Dabangg 3 which stars Salman Khan. The movie is expected to go on floors in mid-2018. Arbaaz recently revealed his plans of producing content for the digital platform too.
