Flashback to the eighties and remind yourself of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Yaraana with the hit song ‘Saraa Zamaana, haseeno ka deewana’ The song which was picturised on Neetu Singh and Amitabh Bachchan was particularly famous for Big B’s attire. His costume for the song consisted of clothes fitted with electric bulbs which he himself operated from under his clothing maintaining synchronization while dancing.

Imagine that classic now being remade and that too, with one of Bollywood’s most prolific dancers – Hrithik Roshan. Yes, ace Director Sanjay Gupta, has only gone and remixed the song specially for his upcoming film Kaabil,

The remixed version of Saara Zamaana, which has been recently shot for the film features impressive performances by Hrithik Roshan and beauty queen Urvashi Rautela. After chartbusters like Ishq Samundar, Maahi Ve, Saki Saki and Babli Badmaash, Sanjay has filmed a reworked version of Saara Zamaana from Amitabh Bachchan’s Yaarana (1981).

The director shared, “Our version is in a female voice and is picturised in the most imaginative way. Those who recall Mr. Bachchan’s outfit in the song will remember that it had light bulbs all over it. And even today when you watch it, it has that jaw-dropping effect. We’re attempting something close. While shooting, we had booked all the lights available to create a similar impact. A huge dome was erected and Urvashi sizzled like never before.“

Producer of the film, Rakesh Roshan, on his part, believes, “The Saara Zamaana set was breathtaking. Urvashi’s grace, poise and energy lit up the set. She recreated the magic of the song effortlessly.“ The producer, who has a thing for upping the scale with whatever he attempts, adds, “Urvashi was nervous as hell to enact a song that originally features Amitabh Bachchan. However, she gave it her all. The result will blow people’s mind away. I think people will be tripping on this song through the upcoming party season.“

Kaabil stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautum and is due to release worldwide on 26 January.
