The latest buzz is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film is based on famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi has been the talk of the town for quite some time now.

After a lot of speculations around the male lead, Abhishek Bachchan has apparently given his nod to the movie. With regards to which female actor will essay the role of Amrita Pritam (Sahir’s long-standing companion and soul-mate), is yet to be finalised.

According to reports, Alia Bhatt is Bhansali’s ‘most prominent choice’ for Amrita’s character.

She is now at a stage where her career decisions will determine whether she joins the hall of all-time greats. It would be most interesting to work with Alia.”

Interestingly, Alia had auditioned for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black to reprise the role of young Rani Mukerji which was later played by Ayesha Kapur.

She has also expressed interest in working with SLB and previously told the media: “Today, I’m saying that I want to work with Mr Bhansali. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’ll take time and I know it’ll happen at some point.”

With regards to the leading man, Abhishek will be slipping into the role of the legendary poet, who is best remembered for his songs like “Jinhe Naaz Hai Hind Par Woh Kahaan Hai” (Pyaasa) and Woh Subah Kabhi Toh Aayegi (Phir Subah Hogi), “Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon”, “Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein” and others.

With regards to Alia, she is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Raazi where she plays an Indian spy called Sehmat. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal and is all set to release on May 11, 2018.
