Although Abhishek Bachchan has gone missing from the big screen for over a year (he was last seen in 2016’s comic caper ‘Housefull 3’), the actor is all set to bounce back in 2018. He has already signed Priyadarshan and Sailesh Singh’s next directorials and is in talks for few more projects. Among the many films he has been offered, one, we heard, is ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ director Shree Narayan Singh’s next social drama.

Abhishek Bachchan might join Shahid Kapoor in Shree Narayan Singh's next

Abhishek has been approached to play a parallel character alongside Shahid Kapoor who plays the lead role in the movie, tentatively titled ‘Roshni’. Junior Bachchan has reportedly liked the script and has shown his interest in the project but is yet to give his final node. If he signs this film, Abhishek will be playing an electricity thief, a kind of role he has never done before.

“Abhishek was recently given a narration and was quite excited by the script. It’s a story about two men- one is involved in electricity theft and the other starts a movement against the practice,” a leading daily reported.

Prernaa Arora who is producing this drama under her banner, KriArj Entertainment, confirmed the news. “Abhishek is surely on our wish list, but nothing has been finalized yet. We’ve already signed Shahid who is the main lead of the film,” she said.

The movie revolves around a common man’s fights against the power distribution companies in India. While Shahid Kapoor will be playing a lawyer, Katrina Kaif has been approached to play the leading lady opposite him. The film with a strong social message, human values, and an inherent emotional quotient will roll early next year.
