Chak De! India is considered as Shah Rukh Khan’s one of the best performances. Released in 2007, SRK essayed the role of Indian Women’s Hockey team coach Kabir Khan in this Shimit Amin directorial.

As reported by an Indian tabloid, SRK and Shimit might unite for another film soon. The film is said to be a two-hero project.

A source informed, “Last year when Chak De! India clocked a decade, Shah Rukh reconnected with Shimit. It was then that the latter discussed a concept he had in mind for Khan. The superstar liked it and asked him to work on it further.

When Shah Rukh returned to Mumbai last week after wrapping up Zero’s US schedule, the two met again to discuss the progress on the script. Shah Rukh is keen on the project and is likely to produce it as well.”

The film is rumoured to be a period drama. However, the director is yet to confirm the news. SRK is apparently a part of Karan Johar’s next and the film Salute.

The source added, “He wants the film to be a departure from his romantic hero image. It will also feature a younger hero as a parallel lead. Though Ayushmann Khurrana is said to be in talks, the final casting call will be taken only after SRK comes on board.”

Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is busy with the shoot of Aanand L Rai’s Zero in the US. The film also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. It is slated to release during Christmas 2018.
