Renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee recently gifted Rani Mukerji a pair of exquisite earrings, which he had personally designed, when the two met in Mumbai. Rani was completely taken by surprise and got extremely emotional with the special gesture from the designer. The designer also wished Rani all the best for her upcoming film Hichki, which marks Rani’s return to acting after three years. Rani was very touched by Sabyasachi’s thoughtful gesture, as he had preserved his first designed jewellery for his best friend.
“As we all know, Sabyasachi has forayed into jewellery and his collections are wowing the world. The designer had thoughtfully kept away the first ever piece of jewellery designed by him - a super exclusive polki earrings with South Sea pearls - especially for Rani. He had created the earring keeping Rani's personality and her charm in mind. He wished her all the best for Hichki while giving the gift. Rani was naturally emotional when she received this from Sabya,” reveals a source close to the two.
Rani plays the role of Naina Mathur who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. Hichki focuses on turning disadvantages into opportunities and staring down at challenges that life throws at one and ultimately winning over them. It is also a subtle reminder about discrimination that exists in our society and has become a part of our daily lives. It highlights this through the story of Naina, who faces discrimination from our society that firmly believes she cannot be a teacher because of her disorder.
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma, this heart-warming movie is set to release on 23 February 2018.Read more

International cinema, style and fashion icon Sonam Kapoor is set to grace DIVAlicious London, a unique, luxury boutique pop-up exhibition presented by DIVAlicious and Sterling Media in association with Sterling Realty and Danube Properties, on Saturday 25th March at The May Fair Hotel, London.
Sonam Kapoor will attend a special soiree that takes place concurrently with the main exhibition in support of Consortium for Street Children, a global network that raises street children’s voices, promotes their rights and improves their lives.
Attended by cultural tastemakers, international fashionistas, business stalwarts, and VIPs, the event will also feature renowned celebrity fashion designer Anita Dongre, presented by DIVAlicious London partner The Rack – by Kachins.
Anita Dongre has been at the forefront of fashion for over 20 years, having created one of the most successful fashion houses in India. A metaphor for supreme craftsmanship, Anita Dongre’s designs showcase Indian aesthetics in a contemporary language. Her prominent clientele includes an array of Bollywood celebrities and international public figures such as HRH The Duchess of Cambridge. At DIVAlicious London, Anita Dongre will be exclusively showcasing her acclaimed collection “Alchemy” (A Magical Transformation).
Speaking about her attendance at DIVAlicious London, Sonam Kapoor says: “I am delighted to be attending DIVAlicious London, which is bringing together exceptional designers from across the Indian inspired luxury fashion segment to UK shores. More importantly, I am extending my support not just as a flag bearer of Indian fashion and culture, but happy to associate with a project which is substance over style, supporting the incredible achievements of the Consortium for Street Children. My three passions have always been Films, Fashion and Fraternity, and to be part of a project that’s ‘fashion for a cause’ is fulfilling.”
At DIVAlicious London, UK shoppers will also see, experience and purchase creations by over 20 established and emerging Indian designers along with accessories and home décor brands from Dubai, India and Hong Kong, all inspired by the East and toned for the West. The finest Indian designer apparel will be brought to the event courtesy of The Rack – by Kachins and include collections by: Anamika Khanna, Gaurav Gupta, Pankaj & Nidhi, Payal Singhal, and Tarun Tahiliani.
Private banker turned fulltime fashion entrepreneur Vanitaa Bhatia launched DIVAlicious in Dubai in 2011 with the aim of closing a vital gap in the fashion market by introducing to shoppers both affordable and luxury designer apparel. “We are really excited to be introducing DIVAlicious to London and are grateful to our incredible partners. DIVAlicious’ success has been driven by a gap in the market we first identified. Most of the time, international Indian fashion exhibits just cover haute designer apparel, however we also invite affordable brands to showcase their creations to provide a holistic and direct-to-consumer shopping experience for customers, under one roof.”
In explaining why London was the obvious next stop destination for Divalicious, Vanitaa Bhatia adds: “London is a fashion-conscious market with an appetite to invest in brands catering to an affluent market. After taking DIVAlicious to ten global cities and with its growing popularity, 2017 seemed the opportune time to bring DIVAlicious to the world’s fusion capital – London.”
DIVAlicious London’s partner is the globally renowned, multi-award-winning business and communications consultancy Sterling Media. Established in 1995, the company has a specialist luxury-lifestyle division, providing strategic consultancy to a range of clients including Harrods, Ralph & Russo, Aston Martin, Raghavendra Rathore of Jodhpur to The East India Company. Natasha Mudhar, CEO of Sterling Group says: “We are incredibly excited to work with DIVAlicious who have showcased the best in Indo-fusion design couture, by introducing them to a UK audience with a growing appetite for South Asian fashion. DIVAlicious London represents everything that London stands for: culture, innovation and creativity.
With 2017 representing a landmark year celebrating the business and cultural partnership between UK and India, DIVAlicious London further embellishes the special relationship shared between the two great nations, bringing together a platform for cultural engagement.”Read more
