Renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee recently gifted Rani Mukerji a pair of exquisite earrings, which he had personally designed, when the two met in Mumbai. Rani was completely taken by surprise and got extremely emotional with the special gesture from the designer. The designer also wished Rani all the best for her upcoming film Hichki, which marks Rani’s return to acting after three years. Rani was very touched by Sabyasachi’s thoughtful gesture, as he had preserved his first designed jewellery for his best friend.
“As we all know, Sabyasachi has forayed into jewellery and his collections are wowing the world. The designer had thoughtfully kept away the first ever piece of jewellery designed by him - a super exclusive polki earrings with South Sea pearls - especially for Rani. He had created the earring keeping Rani's personality and her charm in mind. He wished her all the best for Hichki while giving the gift. Rani was naturally emotional when she received this from Sabya,” reveals a source close to the two.
Rani plays the role of Naina Mathur who has a nervous system disorder, Tourette syndrome that forces an individual to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. Hichki focuses on turning disadvantages into opportunities and staring down at challenges that life throws at one and ultimately winning over them. It is also a subtle reminder about discrimination that exists in our society and has become a part of our daily lives. It highlights this through the story of Naina, who faces discrimination from our society that firmly believes she cannot be a teacher because of her disorder.

Ace Cricketer Yuvraj Singh attended a charity event hosted by Mackenzie Homes to support his NGO - The YouWeCan Foundation. The event was hosted at the Centenary Hall, Caldicott Preparatory School in Berkshire, UK. Famed BBC broadcaster, comedian and Masterchef finalist Mr. Hardeep Singh Kohli hosted the evening. The conversation was centered around his incredible comeback in cricket post illness, his work with YouWeCan foundation and YWC fashion.
Yuvraj spoke about his personal journey of dealing with cancer with a never say die spirit and the thought behind establishing the YouWeCan Foundation and making it sustainable with the recent launch of his fashion label brand YWC fashion. While talking of his recovery phase from cancer Yuvi was seen to be quite emotional as he shared his journey to gain the inner strength to never give up. Speaking on the occasion Yuvraj said “It is an honor to be here and also a privilege to open my heart out and share my personal journey from a cancer fighter to a survivor with everyone present here today. I will feel fortunate even if I can motivate people to never give up and to continue to chase their dreams no matter how big is the obstacle. I live by two strong beliefs – to never give up and if one falls, one should get up and do it again.”
Yuvraj Singh who played exceedingly well in the recent matches between India and Pakistan as well as with South Africa was seen mingling with the guests and sharing interesting stories and personal insights he has gained along the way. He also shared some anecdotes from the memorable 2011 World Cup.”
Proceeds from the charity dinner went in aid to the YouWeCan foundation which brings Yuvraj Singhs vision to life for the empowerment of cancer survivors.
