Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passed away at 79

Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passed away some time back today after prolonged illness. The 79-years old actor took his last breath at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

Shashi’s nephew Mohit Marwah shared this unfortunate news on Twitter. “My favourite shashi kapoor rests in peace today will be remembered always,” he wrote.

Shashi Kapoor was known as an acting legend in Indian film industry. He has acted in over 175 movies in both national and international arena. He is renowned for his work in films such as ‘Deewar’, ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ among others. He was the 3rd and the youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor, and the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor.

Shashi was a three-time National award winner. He was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his contributions to Art-Cinema in 2011 and with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2014.
