Rumors were ripe that Shahid Kapoor who will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ has signed one more film with the filmmaker. It was reported that Shahid would be collaborating with SLB once again in his next, titled ‘Tuesdays And Fridays’. However, we have now heard that Shahid is not doing this film anymore.
Shahid has reportedly backed out of ‘Tuesdays And Fridays’ citing date issues. A source informed us, “If Sanjay Leela Bhansali is impressed with someone, he likes to work with him/her again and again. Shahid has impressed him with his subtle performance in Padmavati as Rani Padmavati’s calm, strong-willed husband, Rawal Ratan Singh and he wanted to collaborate with the actor again. So when a script of a contemporary love story came to SLB early this year, he offered it to Shahid as he is known for portraying romantic characters so brilliantly on-screen.”
“Shahid also liked the script and showed his interest in doing it. This project was verbally discussed and nothing was on paper then because they wanted ‘Padmavati’ to release first. However, when a team from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production house visited Shahid a few months ago and discoursed about their shooting plans, Shahid had no option but to opt out of the film because his dates were clashing with Shahid’s film with Shree Narayan Singh. Shahid tried to adjust but the dates didn’t work out for this film,” the source said adding that Shahid left this film mutually hoping to collaborate with SLB again soon in another project.
Meanwhile, Bhansali has already got Shahid’s replacement for ‘Tuesdays And Fridays’. Debutante Anmol Thakeria Dhillon, a son of veteran actress Poonam Dhillon and filmmaker Ashok Thakeria, has been locked as the leading hero in this film. Reportedly, Anmol who has trained in acting at Anupam Kher’s academy and has learnt dance from Shaimak Davar has already started preparing for his debut film which is scheduled to go on floors in January 2018.
‘Tuesdays And Fridays’ is said to be a rom-com with as many as eight songs. A debutant filmmaker will helm it under Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions. An official announcement on this is expected to be made soon.
