It’s Official: Bobby Deol to play the second lead in Salman Khan’s Race 3

By RAHUL RAUT

Since the producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed that Salman Khan will be starring in ‘Race 3’, a lot of speculations are being riped about the other leading actors who will play parallel characters to Salman in the film as the Race franchise has always been a multi-starrer series.

Bobby Deol joins Race 3

From Sidharth Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sooraj Pancholi to Emraan Hashmi and even Varun Dhawan were hypothecated to star alongside Salman in ‘Race 3’. However, it’s now been confirmed that it’s Bobby Deol who has actually bagged this interesting role in third part of Race franchise.

Bobby will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in this movie. Although it’s yet unknown what he is playing, his character is said to be stylish and grey, just like Salman. Producer Taurani confirmed his casting and said, “I have worked with Bobby earlier and both Soldier and Naqaab were a great experience. He is an absolute delight to work with, very professional and a really nice guy. He will be styled differently in the film and you will see him in a never seen-before avatar.”

“In Race, all characters are grey. You will have to watch the film to figure out what exactly each one is playing,” Taurani decided to keep the suspense alive when asked about Bobby’s character.

Salman Khan

It will be the second time Salman and Bobby will be seen together in a movie as they have earlier worked together in Samir Karnik’s 2008 film ‘Heroes’ as well. Bobby who is currently shooting for ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 3’ with his father Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol, will begin prepping for ‘Race 3’ soon.

About the female lead, Jacqueline Fernandez who was seen with Salman in Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut ‘Kick’ way back in 2014 has already been officially confirmed while Daisy Shah is said to be almost finalized for yet another female character.

Directed by Remo D’Souza, ‘Race 3’ is expected to roll by this month-end in Abu Dhabi with the target of releasing it in Eid weekend next year.
